 Clarity Therapy and Coaching

Working with you to establish clarity on your thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Home: Welcome

How do the sessions work?

My name is Clare, I am a qualified person-centred counsellor, accredited with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and I have a MA in Psychotherapy. I am also a qualified personal development coach, accredited by The Coaching Academy.

My style of therapy enables you to have the space to talk through and better understand your thoughts, feelings and emotions. My role as your therapist is to be with you, listen to what is happening in your life and enable you to gain better clarity and insight into your thoughts and behaviours.

I believe the more we learn and understand ourselves and find ways to treat ourselves with compassion and love, the more enriching our lives and relationships become.

Coaching
I offer a grounded approach to coaching where we create a timeline of what you want to achieve and by when. My role is to ensure that you feel, believe and think the goal is achievable and that you are taking incremental or large steps towards achieving what you want.

My role is to gently ask you questions (which you can choose to answer or not) and decipher what is going on with you and what you want to focus on. I may challenge some of your beliefs for us to see how true they are, for example; what evidence is there to confirm this belief is true?

As the time comes to a close (each session is 50 minutes), I will let you know and we wrap up the session. If you want me to give you ‘homework’ I can, but it’s completely up to you.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapy is conducted on a weekly or bi-weekly basis over a longer period. Therapy is focussed on making sense of how experiences in the past may be influencing your present, gently looking at what is happening in your life now and thinking about your future.

Coaching is more short-term (6-12 sessions) where you define what you want to achieve (the goal) and create a road map of how you will go after what you want. We take a glance at the past and remain more present and future-focussed.

What areas do I cover?

In therapy, I am trained to work holistically and have worked with clients in a wide range of areas from bereavement, existential crisis, depression, addiction, gender identity, abandonment and much more.

In coaching, I am experienced with working with clients on a range of goals from looking at how they can move forward with career or life plans (e.g. after a separation) to tangible goals such as writing and publishing a book.

Please note, that I welcome and am experienced with working with clients from the LGBTQA+ community.
